Flat Line

We went to the valley and met up with some friends which means pads, lots of pads. With about 15 pads we decided to try Flat Line, a tall V9 in the Le Conte Area. The problem is 5 star and starts ona slopey rail and makes small dead points on crimps to a rest sloper, then 3 more hard moves gets you to a rest. Then all you have left is another 10 feet of v4 slab, which we all backed down on.

Another Valley Post

Another weekend in the valley. The temps were way to hot to really pull hard. We started out in the Cathedrals and met up with some climbers from Fresno, and then spent the later part of the day at the Indian Caves and the Happy Isles.

One Day Valley Trip

Two Saturdays ago I found myself in the Valley climbing with my old friends Drew and Ben, and a new friend Natasha. Temps were good and on her first go of the day Natasha sent Thriller V10, she had been working this for quite some time. After this we went over to the Columbia Boulder and everyone had a run at Midnight Lightning. Drew got close, but just could not finish. Meanwhile Ben stuck the Moffat Start V10, in about 30 minutes. The end of the day was spent on a new school problem called Drive On V10 which climbs a tall face out near the horse trails. After about an hour and some bloody knuckles Ben found a key foot and unlocked the problem with an amazing send.

First Blog

Snow: Yes, there was snow at Castle Rock this weekend. It came down for about an hour and the whole park was blanketed in a soft white hue. Hopefully better weather next week.
